That was the regular cry of my 3-year-old daughter, Megan, many years ago. It warmed my heart every time she said it-whether we were in the supermarket queue or standing outside her reception class. In fact, during those first few days of school, she’d repeat it three times before walking in, just in case we’d forgotten! Sometimes, she’d say it simply because she needed a cuddle.
Megan understood something deeply profound at such a young age:
We all want to be loved. We all want to be liked. We all want to feel known-especially by someone who matters to us.
In Psalm 139, David expresses something very similar:
‘You have searched me, Lord and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise, you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; You are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely
God knows us so well. He sees our anxieties, our challenges, our passions, our hopes and our dreams. And yet, David doesn’t stop there. He invites God to go even deeper:
Search me God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me and lead me in the way everlasting. (Psalm 139:23-24)
Our prayer for Breathe 2026 is simple: That you would experience the deep peace and joy of being fully known and fully loved by God—and be led into His life-giving ways.
So come. Breathe deeply. Be renewed.
And let God remind you: You are loved. You are liked. You are known.

Bekah is a mum, a friend and a Bibi (Granny); relationships matter to her. She has worked as a teacher, youth worker, and church leader. She writes, speaks, and lectures about family, faith, and flourishing. Fundamentally, she loves helping people know who God created them to be and step into his plans.
In 2020, these passions led her to Restored, an organisation committed to speaking up about violence against women, equipping the church to stand against domestic abuse and supporting survivors. It’s a job which brings together everything she loves most, helping women rediscover their identity and encouraging the church to challenge and change a culture which damages women and men alike.
All around us are extraordinary people who have stories of courage, loving above and beyond, as well as those who make our world a better place to live. The Breathe Collective loves to HONOUR, and that is why we have developed the Pineapple Awards.
Why a pineapple? Each bush produces one fruit just as we have one life to live. Could you nominate someone who is making their one life count?
Head to breathe.c3.uk to nominate.
